Will other parents hate me if I give candyfloss?

DD and DS are having their joint birthday party soon with a circus theme - circus bouncy castle, big top (well OK gazebo plus stripey fabric), Clown with performing seal puppet, etc. DD wants to have candyfloss (she wanted a tightrope as well but I said no to that). If I give a small bag to each child when they leave will all their parents hate me for the resultant sugar-rush, or will I get away with it because it's a party? The food at the party will be generally healthy - I don't do fruit shoots or sausage rolls anyway, and I am probably at the lentil weaving end of the spectrum compared to the majority of my peers

can't they have it at the party? what a great laugh that would be... oooh i love candyfloss.

AitchTwoOh · 22/04/2007 20:11

btw, haven't seen you around lately, where've you been?

NotQuiteCockney · 22/04/2007 20:11

Better to have it at the party, people's car upholstery will thank you for it.

Lact8 · 22/04/2007 20:11

I wouldn't hate you!
I'd sort of expect candyfloss if it was a circus theme tbh
Sounds like fab party!

prufrock · 22/04/2007 20:12

No - becuase then I would have to cope with the sugar highs and stickiness

have it at the party

do you have a machine?

if yes, can I come?

thanks

Hulababy · 22/04/2007 20:13

So long as it is in a fastened up bag then I think it is fine to send home. Parents can decide when and where they can eat it then.

PanicPants · 22/04/2007 20:13

If your fold is generally healthy, then I woulod think a bit of candy floss would balance it all out.
And agree with everyone else to eat it at your party!

AitchTwoOh · 22/04/2007 20:13

i don't think a little bit will give them such a high. make them mini-ones and then clean their teeth with bits of apple.

PanicPants · 22/04/2007 20:13

food

shouldbe · 22/04/2007 20:14

Sounds great - my lo's would love candyfloss and I wouldn't have a problem with it either (as long as they share it with me )

Where do you get bags of candyfloss? (I might just steal your idea...)

MarsLady · 22/04/2007 20:16

I won't hate you if you give some to me!!!!!!!!!!!

Chocolateface · 22/04/2007 20:16

I think they'll be more annoyed if it gets allover their car seats

SofiaAmes · 22/04/2007 20:16

Candy floss is a great idea. I love it too...always make my dc share with me. And I never give them candy normally. Don't forget a massive supply of wipes for the sticky hands.

oliveoil · 22/04/2007 20:18

my view on parties is no judging

IT IS A PARTY

my two don't have many sweets but they do at parties

I wouldn't concern yourself tbh

I have green icing on my rug the other week from a dinosaur cake

nogoes · 22/04/2007 20:28

Probably but only in a roll your eyes kind of way.

Its a party they are supposed to be fun! Although it is crap you can't go through childhood without tasting candyfloss its what memories are made of.

SparklyGothKat · 22/04/2007 20:30

I wouldn't hate you for it, but my DS could never eat it, he was given some when he was 3 and was like a windup toy all evening!!
