Ds will be 6 next month he is having his party at dh's club (where he works not a member!) there will be approx 25 kids, they will be split into two groups to begin with, 1 grp having a 15 min golf lesson other grp in party room, then they swop around, have booked magician for when the whole grp are back together but what do I do with the grp not doing the golf. Have thought of doing pass the parcel but have never done anything like this before, what do you put in as the main gift?? This will be the first and last time ds is inviting the whole class (dreading it already) I never had parties as a child so not too sure on the whole games things. Dh said not to worry about it but of course I will, any suggestions gratefully received.

TIA

well for DS 6th birthday I booked a gym which had a bouncy castle, a football net and a load of soft balls and just left them to it

I really don't understand why you want to entertain them .. I think the golf lesson is probably a lot of fun (if the individual kids want to do it), the magician will be a hoot (but probably not necessary) ..

can you not just let them play?

I am big on letting kids play and not organising games

if you have pass the parcel with that many kids have 2 going round at once or they get bored. the chocolate game is fab - one huge bar of chocolate, a couple of dice (you only need one but take a spare incase one gets flung across the room), silly hat, sunglasses, knife and fork, rubber gloves. sit in circle, stuff in middle. take in turns to roll dice, if you get a 6 you have to dress up and try to eat as much choc as poss with knife and fork before someone else rolls a 6 and they take over. take a cd of kids songs you can do musical chairs, musical bumps, musical statues or just a dance competition. sleeping lions if it gets too much

IME you do need to provide something for kids to do or they may just run riot.

We had great success at DS2 party with flap a fish, cut fish in tissue paper and provide rolled-up newspaper to flap them down to a beanbag and back again, in teams of 3 or 4, winning team gets prize.

Also big success was pirate treasure map - I drew a map and told a story about how the pirate had brought it to my door etc etc (could adapt for any theme) and each child picked a square and then the winning square was in an envelope opened at the end.
