What could kids do when they arrive at dd 5th birthday party? Anyone got any suggestions please.

We are having ten kids to our house (mix of 5year old boys and girls) and are planning the usual games and stuff. Just looking for something to do when they arrive, ie some sort of activity. Perhaps a crafty type thing but if anyone has any good ideas I could steal I'd be very grateful!

make hats (strip of card, with or without a bigger pointy bit at the front).
decorate paper bags to be their party bag

Make masks - cut up paper plates and do eyes in advance, also elastic. Try decorating to a theme eg princesses and knights, pirates.

Colouring competition - print out sheets from t'internet. Offer stickers and maybe glitter glue to add to the effect. One boy spent the whole of DD's party doing one last year bless him.

do you know them all by name? if not, when they arrive send them to make a name badge.
