Bea has no musical preference

she looks blank and starts wiggling automatically to any sort of music at all

utterly undiscerning

sounds like a great party

i have a fab cake book that has how to make a bee cake it you'd like a copy of the instructions let me know. Its based round a pudding bowl cake covered in yellow and brown icing but does look very cute.

Enid · 21/03/2007 11:22

is it hard? cake icing is NOT my forte

also the dds are supposed to be doing it

I have a book calle Easy Party Cakes - must be the misnomer of the century

no idea haven't made the bee cake! just the duck, castle and snail cake!

From memory (books at home, i'm obviously working hard at work!) you make a basic sponge cake but cook it in a Pyrex bowl rather than cake tin, this will make a very round cake, you cover this with yellow ready to roll icing then add stripes of butter icing and cover those with choc sprinkles to make the stripy bee bit! then some wings cut out of white ready to roll icing and two brown lolly pops as antennae.

I'm copying the bee cake instructions for my dd3's birthday.

It'll be topical as she's going to be a bee in the pre-school "musical".

katzg · 21/03/2007 11:42
