Will magician be enough? What about those that want to run around?

Ds's 5th birthdy party in 2 weeks. Have booked church hall and magician who is there for duration doing magic and playing party games.

I am now worried baout thsoe kids that will want to charge around like nutters - will they enjoy it or not?

Someone told me recently that the best thing you can give children under 5 (and I'm including people who are only just 5 in this) is a big box with loads of balloons.

I having a childrens entertain/magician, Ive seen his act and he is brilliant. In my experience a lot depends on the act itself, you've either got it or you havent so to speak with kids, but Im sure it will be fine. Kids do enjoy running about...perhaps blow up some balloons for them to play with, bring hoops, balls, etc, just in case........theres always pass the parcel too, you could wrap one up to take for emergencies. Or take a cd and do a dancing competition, or musical statues.

Dd had a magician for her 5th birthday. 30 kids, most of whom like to charge around like nutters ... the magician had them eating out of his hand, they sat completely transfixed. He was really good with them, had them under control at all times.

If he's doing games and things they won't be sitting still all the time, there will be plenty of time for them to let off a bit of steam. It'll be fine!

We had a magic lady for DS1 and DDs 6th and 4th joint b/day party, 30+ children in a hall (last joint one we did) and it was fab.

She only did an hour - show and a few games - and we did take some toys like scooters/trampoline etc, but if we had had the whole 2hrs of magic clown they wouldn't have been needed.
