Help - pressie ideas for new mum, turning 30

My best friend is turning 30 soon, and she has a 3 week old baby. Any ideas for a nice, not too expensive (£30 tops) pressie. Something nice and girly (I want it to be for her, not her family), but practical. If I lived closer I'd give her a 'voucher' which said I'd clean her loo or take baby for a walk or something small but meaningful (I remember that time vaguely!), but I'm miles away. Mail order would be best. Cheers.

Liz Earle toiletries would be really nice, especially some of the body wash and body cream. You can order via the website, bottles are individually (and beautifully) wrapped, it smells divine, feels indulgent and makes your skin feel beautiful.

Otherwise, depending on where she lives, perhaps a voucher for a massage, facial or something similar? A quick internet search usually comes up with something and is especially good if you can find someone who does treatments in the home.

Ooh, I'll check that website. The problem with massage etc is that I want something to treat her now, and I don't think she'd leave her baby at this stage, esp as she's bfing.

For other nice toiletries, you can do worse than look at QVC. They frequently have offers on Molton Brown, L'Occitane and other high-end - at least in wonkaworld! - brands and charge a fraction of what you'd expect to pay for the same on the high street.

Would love to hear what you decide to get. x

OK, I officially now love QVC!! A quick gander has led me to the 'Liz Earle Super Skin Nourishing Kit', 'L'Occitane Angelica Hair Care' and 'Philosophy 4 Piece Ski House Collection' (I tried to insert the links but when I tested them it went to a search page on QVC, not the product page - how crap!). They all seem gorgeous and are similar prices - which would you prefer? The L'Occitane looks wonderful, their packaging is so great isn't it? Oh, I don't know...

The L'Occitane stuff looks great but it's marked as "wait list only" so I'd check with the telephone operator to see how long you'd expect to wait. Otherwise, either of the other two would be lovely, though I can vouch for the Liz Earle stuff because I've tried everything in that range at some point !

Am sure she'll love whatever you choose, it's always nice to receive an unexpected parcel, especially if full of lovely goodies .

Thankyou so much, I hadn't noticed that about the L'Occitane stuff. I'll keep looking and defintely keep the Liz Earle stuff in mind.
