Am thinking about getting these for DD's 7th birthday party next week.

Will it be mayhem?

Also can you reuse them?

Can't reuse them - they are just sheets of bubble wrap with a fancy backing. I just keep bubble wrap from packaging and use that!

They're very small, you'd only get one or two children jumping on each one.

It's basically a piece of giant bubble wrap, so you can't use them again once the bubbles have been popped. Get a sheet of plain giant bubble wrap from a garden centre instead, works out much cheaper and you can use bigger sheets so everyone can jump together.

It's great fun ... the kids have to fight the adults off, though

Ah I see. I'm assuming giant bubbles then?

There will be 12 children. Do you think 3 mats would be enough for them all to have a turn?

Are we talking a 5 second activity?

I would say that three mats would be over and done with within thirty seconds - well before everyone had had a turn. They really are very small and it's so much more fun if everyone can have a go together.

I was looking at these but figured they were not that big. Where do you buy giant bubble wrap rolls - I mean wrap with giant bubbles rather than a big roll!

WigWamBam · 19/02/2007 13:38

I got mine from a garden centre - they sell it to line greenhouses with, but jumping on it seems a much better use

Hulababy · 19/02/2007 13:39

Looks like a trip to the garden centre then. Any idea on cost?

Hulababy · 19/02/2007 13:40

Does this look about right? Or can you get some with larger bubbles than that - these say large, rather than small.

WigWamBam · 19/02/2007 13:45

I can't remember how much it cost now. I bought a length of it rather than a whole roll, I think it cost me about £7 or £8 but 30 children all had a go.

The bubbles were about 2 - 2.5" across.

I used one mat between 2 4/5 year olds -over quite quickly but good fun!

Ceolas · 19/02/2007 13:59

Zubb - 1 between 2. Did you get a few mins or 30 secs?!

OP posts:

a few minutes - mainly because they were jumping all over the place and not always landing on the mats! Was planning on letting them take it in turns, but instead there were 2 of them jumping on the them at the same time.
It was over a lot quicker then other games, but it was fun.
