6th birthday party - disco - what to wear?

DD has been invited to a year 1 disco birthday party - she's in reception. I wondered what she would wear. I don't want her to turn up in her frilly pink party dress if the girls are all wearing sparkly trousers and tops.

my dd's had a disco the last three years she's just had her 7th birthday. Most at her 7th wore sparkly outfits, but previous years there were a mixture of party dresses and disco stuff.

My dd just turned 6 and had a disco party ... she wore a pretty pink party dress. Her friends came in everything from party dresses to glittery tops to dressing up gear. That probably doesn't help does it?!
DD went to pop idol party a few months ago and I wasn't sure what others would be wearing - she wore denim skirt, groovy/swirly/retro type top and sunglasses ...

Thanks. In the end DD wanted to wear her party dress so I let her go in that. The birthday girl was similarly dressed but there were some girls in sparkly numbers. I was just aware that there can sometimes be a big jump between reception and year 1 and I didn't want DD to look too babyish - although I myself would have been very disappointed if a 5yo looked babyish in her party dress. But disaster averted. Thanks for your help.
