Baby Girl's First Birthday Gift- Struggling

Please, please, please can you tell me about the most imaginative, not necessarily expensive, gift you've ever received, either for you dc's first birthday, or have bought for someone else's?

Baby in question is a little girl but gift needn't be gender specific either. Just something well thought out. Time is marching on and I am at a loss and completely out of touch.

I'm not sure about being imaginative, but popular presents here were a set of baby instruments, any happyland, a doll and buggy and the fisher price animal train.

Ours are 4 and 2 now but enduring gifts have been:
Wooden stacking rainbow (bloody expensive)
Wooden musical set (all in one jobby from amazon)
Lights and sounds fire engine from elc
Easel

A decent sand and water table is great too. We got one of the wheelybugs for ds 1st and it's rarely played with...but others rave about them. Scuttlebug has been good though. Or books are always great. My two LOVE the bizzy bear series which is aimed at babies!

Thanks everyone for your suggestions. I liked the look of the stacking rainbow but it's tiny judging by the reviews. Shame.

It was definitely smaller than I was expecting, given its price, but it's a nice toy and a lovely ornament! I'd say it's about 30cm wide? Hang on will take a photo...

That looks like a really lovely present to me.

Wooden Noah's Ark is also nice.
Or books - maybe some classics you loved yourself as a child.
Or the Ikea wooden rocking moose?

We got a Noah's Ark, my daughter loves it and all my friends children have now got them. If there's a B&M Bargains near you they're half the price in there
