why? becuse you can really show your creativity through them. and the kids love them. and a good one will keep the parents happy too.
yes, they are expensive, but isnt alll life expensive?

I like them too. I enjoy looking around for interesting bits and pieces to put into them - they don't have to be full of crappy plastic.

Plus the kids love them, whatever's in them ... which I think is as good a reason as any for doing them.

im so glad you agree with me. ws scared i was going to be shot down in flames

I agree too Stitch, they don't have to be crappy and I remember how much I loved them as a child

WigWamBam · 26/01/2007 19:27

Oh, I daresay that will come later

Kbear · 26/01/2007 19:29

I love them too - I'm making a compilation CD (of High School Musical, Kylie etc etc) for DD's friends to go in theirs (very cheap but a fantastic idea if I say so myself) and glow sticks to wear on the way home!

Hate plastic tat though.

Ooh - controversial, Stitch. I like the idea of a perfectly put-together party bag, and have been quite pleased at some of the things I've found for them, but I do find them a bit stressful.

stitch · 26/01/2007 19:33

but we have all year to make them up. i find getting the plastic tat stuff stressful though
i love the compilations cd idea. my kids re probly a bit young etc for them, but i wish id thought of tht for dsis wedding fvours.

But I have just seen on the other thread that some people have 30 children at a party and yes that would be a bit of an ordeal to shop for and assemble 30. But my dd is very unlikely to ever have 30 children at any of her parties...............

WigWamBam · 26/01/2007 19:39

Dd had around 30 at her party last year ... I still loved putting the bags together. I enjoyed mooching around the sales looking for little bits and bobs, it was quite nice to look for things for boys as well as for girls as well, because I rarely shop for boys. The Book People are good for bulk buys as well - it was cheaper to put in a book and some well-chosen bits and pieces than it was to buy a load of plastic and sweets.

She'll have a smaller party this year, I think - which will make it easier to make each bag more personal. I'm looking forward to doing them again.

pointydog · 26/01/2007 20:26

I like 'em. But I don't show my creativity through them.

Neena28 · 26/01/2007 20:31

Love love love them!

But I like throwing all parties etc anyway.

Ds (6) had these classic party bag set for his and they went down a storm. I folded the leaflet up and put it in the bag along with a chocolate freddo frog.

DD (1) had little picture books and wooden jingly shaker things for her friends.

rachfran · 26/01/2007 20:32

My DD is 2 in May and I am already planning party bags - I love them!

HuwEdwards · 26/01/2007 20:33

paulaplumpbottom · 26/01/2007 22:10

SNOWBall4girlz · 27/01/2007 09:26
