DD invited to a 7 year old boy birthday party - need gift ideas please.

Need advice from Mums of boys age 6/7/8 please.

DD is invited to a birthday party for a boy turning 7 tomorrow, and I have no idea where to begin with a gift. The boy in question is quite sporty, and lives in central London so there is limited garden space. He loves books, dragons and knights. Also enjoys fiddling with geomag, etc. He also is the excited owner of a new pet snake!

These are good friends, so happy to spend ?20 or so - no firm budget. I've asked the Mum for ideas, but no response so far - suppose she's in the midst of party preparations.

Any ideas? Thank you!

One of my ds's most prized possesions is a very soft small football that he's allowed to kick in the house. No idea where we got it though, sorry.

If you KNOW he likes Yu Gi Oh, this set is another very prized possession in this house, I'm sure we didn't pay anywhere near that though and I think it was from Woolworths.

My ds is 9 now but would have liked (or did like) these things at 7.

Can you get to the science museum shop earlybird? Loads of fab stuff - build your own volcano, Horrible Science kits, that kind of thing.

Do they have a Playstation? If so there are some v good football games, Pro Evo Soccer which ds and dh have or Fifa, which ex dh has Ds reckons Pro Evo's better. But check if her dh already has it.
