Who'll be the first mumsnetter to say Happy New Year?

Can't remember the name of that beach place where everyone was watching the first sunrise of the new millennium, but wondered who on mumsnet we should say happy new year to first

I thought it was a competition - fastest fingers and all that!

I started the first thread on 2006 after sitting with my finger poised.....I was ridiculously proud

Yes but anyone living in Oz will probably beat you to it!! Although I suppose the time of all the threads is still GMT so it doesn't count! What I meant was who lives in a country where new year arrives first.
