Hello, I need some suggestions for our dd's 3rd b'day. Either venues or entertainers ... or both.
I quite like the idea of a storyteller but wonder whether 3yo's would stay still long enough.
I don't want to do the soft play thing so would really appreciate any ideas. We'll have a mixture of boys and girls aged 3 and a couple a bit older. I know the Action Farm at Headley (Nr Newbury) do parties, but the party will be the beginning of April and it'll be chilly still

If you are looking for a trip out, then how about Look Out Discovery in Bracknell. 3 year old I nanny loves it there. Older children can also enjoy it. Indoor science centre part, with playground outdoors.

Wouldn't really be suitable for a big group, but if your DD was just having a few friends come along, could work. Would probably need 1:3 adult to child ratio at minimum, 1:2 better.

Thanks for the reminder, I'd forgotten about the lookout. We've been there a few times and my dd does love it there. Her b'day being right at the beginning of April usually dictates an indoor party as the weather cannot be guaranteed - but, the indoor bit is a good option.

Would you not think of doing it at home?

Tillyboo · 27/12/2006 22:26

Did it at home last year and we had about 12 kids and 25 adults - won't be doing it again this year. I'll let someone else have the mess and stress I think......
Our dd is at nursery now so we'll have more children and parents this year I suspect.
We have a big family day party in the summer and it's a lot of hard work and expense, but at least we can have it in our big garden so I'm not worried about not having it at home this year
