way to ensure people turn up?

We are having a party for ds at the weekend and from 22 invites, we have 18 yes rsvps which I'm really happy with. They've trickled in since the beginning of half term and I'm worried people might forget lol!

Last year I had a particular reason I needed to text everyone just before the party which also served as a reminder and everyone who said they were coming did which was great. I don't have a reason this time but feel it's a good way to remind everyone as no shows are a nightmare....

Can you think of a legitimate sounding reason I could use to text everyone whilst also reminding them about the party??!!

Why can't you just sent a text to remind them about the party?

Don't know really - just seems a bit annoying to pester people on the assumption I think they might forget but I've got no reason to think that!

Is there a fancy dress or theme?

Could you just put 'hi everyone DS is really looking forward to seeing everyone at 2pm at the village hall, for fun and some birthday cake. See you then xx'. For example? I would think that's normal.
