Looking for something to do with work colleagues (13 of us) as a team building/christmas fun exercise. Will be in a meeting room so we'll have a big table. Don't want to spend a lot. Any ideas much appreciated!

xmas bingo- try googling it or making one up.
write a quiz
play pass the parcel
cut out 20 advertisements from magazines and cut out or black out the name of the product that is being advertised. stick up aroung room and have everyone guess what the ads are for.pick some obscure ones. can be done in teams or in pairs.

"Guess who I am" sticker on back of film stars, and other assorted famous people. Have to work who you are by asking everyone yes know question. To play round a table put sticker on a party hat so they can't see it.

Good old charades, or the drawing version, split into two teams and draw pictures to help your own team guess the word/ film/ programme etc.

"Build a slegh" each team has to build a sleigh capable of carrying a couple of small heavy parcels. Has to stand up to testing.

Or parcel wrapping races, one of team is blindfolded and other give directions to help. Give them really hard things like balls and odd shaped boxes.

Do not under any circumstances get everyone to give the person to their right a shoulder/ neck massage. I had to do this once at a teem meeting and it was so horrible.

Some fantastic ideas thanks a lot - I'm sure I can use one or two of these - any more out there?

one really good one....
go through the weekends papers, or any magazines and cut out logos, (make a note of what they are before you chuck out the mag!)
Stick the logos on to two separate sheets of paper and number them.
Divide ppl into two teams and they have to say what the logos are.... it is much harder than you think. Obviously everyone gets Nike, Reebok etc. but sometimes you know it.... but don't know it.
This also works well with famous faces... again cut out from mags, newspapers etc.
The only thing is... you can't join in cos you set the game up and know the answers!!

meant to say....
the teams have to write down what the logos are... then each team swaps their sheet of logos with the other team and writes down those two.
At the end, you call out answers and each team marks each others paper

Could do similar with photos from papers, teams have to add captions. Could find funny santa/ Christmas pics.

probably not what you are thinking of but i remember coming downstairs at one of my parenst new years eve parties and finding all the men in a row with their trousers off and the women in blind folds feeling their legs and having to decide who is who. They all thought it was hilarious, i was mortified

Thanks for all these suggestions. Quadraphenia that sounds fantastic and would love to do it but thinking about the men in my office - perhaps not . Keep 'em comin'!

SIngstar.

Or Pictionary.

Depending how brainy they like to think they are.

Whispering Gallery.

Each person has a piece of paper and a pencil. You all write down some saying or phrase or slogan (it can be anything, e.g. Mind the gap, stand clear of the doors please, or If at first you don't succeed try, try, try again, or You only get an ooh with Typhoo).

Then you pass the paper to the person on your left. That person then has to draw whatever is suggested to them by the picture. Then they fold the top of the paper over, so the next person can only see the picture, not the writing.

They pass it on, and the next person has to write what is suggested by the drawing.

Repeat several times, until one phrase has completely changed into something else. The results are usually quite funny.
