Kids movie themed party?

We have a small house but thus seems like an affordable and do-able party for out 8-year-old dd. Anyone done it? Thinking popcorn, hotdogs, sweeties and big cut-out gold stars.

Sounds great! You could create a 'hot dog bar' with different toppings to choose from or Ice cream parlour. Depending on how many are coming obviously.
Turn your living room into a movie theatre - lots of dark red fabric up at the windows and gold stars are a must! Maybe to start things off, a red carpet moment - bit of red fabric on the floor and posing and photos - great way to document the party too!

My DD (to be 10) has just asked me for a movie star party and I've found your thread during my panicked search for ideas.

Partyrama I love the food and red carpet ideas! DH and DS can be the paparazzi! I'll do gold star with each girls name on for the walls!

From another thread I have also got the idea of progressive party games. In teams there is a game/activity at each table, timed and with a prize at the end. Searching for idea on what the games/activities could be? Charades (2 teams involved - points for guessing each others is my only idea so far.
