Naming day - someone to lead the ceremony

Hi all, trying to see if anyone could help with ideas of where to find someone who could 'hold' the naming ceremony we want to have for our DS.

Looked the the British Humanist website and the starting quote is £150, as I'm on ML that's just not something I can afford. There's no one in our family/friends circle who would be confident enough to speak publicly so unfortunately that's out of the Qs.

Am happy to pay a reasonable fee for this, just £150+ is just too much, does anyone have ideas where I could start looking to find someone?

Thanks :)

We had a humanist celebrant for our naming ceremony, although I can't remember what we paid. We did get the venue (an amazing historical building) for a tiny amount of money though so I guess you win some and lose some!

Anyway, I wondered if it was worth getting in touch with the Humanist Association to see if there were any celebrants in training in case they were available for a smaller cost? May be worth a try - good luck with finding someone.

Looking back, I think we would probably have scraped through doing it on our own, although having someone do it for us did take a lot of the stress away!
