No. They'll wait til they're in the car going home

bakedpotatooooowoooh · 10/10/2006 14:32

That will have to be one very large, densely-wrapped parcel
Ours was dispatched in about 7 minutes. Oh, the horror.

Enid · 10/10/2006 14:33

ok replace pass the parcel with dh making balloon animals

i applaud you having a timetable

i had a 4th birthday party last week

we had face painting and muscial chairs/bumps/statues

not very successful but there was LOTS of giggling going on

can you deflate the bouncy castle while its cake time? because i cant see them NOT wanting to go on it once the parcel has been passed

enid i havd dds 4th birthday last week, we did pin the crown to the fairy - as instructed by mumsnetters - muscial fairies to the sugar plum fairy and scissor sisters!, that took 3/4 hr, then we had food at 5pm , feed them their tea so we didnt have sick children and then they had cakes etc after that, that took 40mins , then they went and played outside for a bit and then home time at 6pm

WideWebWitch · 10/10/2006 15:00

I agree, you don't need to do anything other than castle and cake imo. careful about how much cake unless you want puke. So I'd do

3.00 - 4.15 castle
4.15 - 5 deflate castle and do tea and cake

They won't be sick if you do as I say
I had 30 + and a castle for ds's 4th and that's all they did, go oin the castle and eat cake.

WideWebWitch · 10/10/2006 15:01

And why give youselves other jobs when they will all love the castle? You could have colouring out for any shy ones who don't like bouncing.

WideWebWitch · 10/10/2006 15:02

And make sure there are no stray kids in it before/after you deflate it. And if you don't deflate it they won't get off ime.

nailpolish · 10/10/2006 15:03

Enid, id get WWW to come round and be chief party manager

northerner · 10/10/2006 15:05

Lol at Enids 'agenda'

Will they eat around a boardroom table? Will you take minutes?

TwigTwoolett · 10/10/2006 15:05

how about this

3pm Bouncy castle open / colouring table set up

4pm Tea and cake

4.15pm Bouncy castle open / colouring or musical statues

5pm Go home

slightly simplified I feel ...

TwigTwoolett · 10/10/2006 15:06

ignore me and go with WWW

Enid · 10/10/2006 17:04

Oh I can;t bear it if there are no games AT ALL

will tea and cake only take 15 mins? then we could do half an hour of boucning then deflate the thing by 4.30 otherwise they'll be going bonkers when parents arrive

OP posts:
Enid · 10/10/2006 17:05

and dh HAS to make the balloon animals

he is looking forward to it

although he can only do dogs so far
