I forgot their birthday! Need quick, cheapish ideas!

My twins turn 1 year old on Wednesday and I completely forgot due to so much going on and now O feel awful!

So I need your help in thinking of a theme, decorations and food.

It will only be a small tea party roughly 24 people (including our little family of 8).

Twins are boy/girl.

Help

- surely just a few balloons and some nice party food and wine for the adults is enough for first birthday celebrations?

Have you got older children, can you delegate them to organise a 'theme'?

Involve your other children, ask them to help choose the food etc, you don't need to do much for a first birthday, I wouldn't bother with a theme, just get a cake!

All my other DC had themed 1st birthday parties, just because it's the big "first year".

Never thought to ask the DC for ideas. My 6yo would love coming up with ideas :)

I do plan on making a small smash cake for 1 of twins (one isn't weaned) and will be there first taste of chocolate :) and then just a cake for everyone else. :)
