Last year I bought little tin buckets from hobby craft and filled with little bits and sweets then wrapped in cellophane and tied with ribbon. They looked really nice dd had beauty stuff in her ones and ds had stationary in his. Otherwise Ive done a book wrapped up, get a bumper pack from book people and then separate.

THings that my DCs have come home with that were a bit unusual:

Packets of seeds
Pair of socks (gloves could work just as well this time of year - Primark usually has loads of this sort of thing for very little ££)
Books (buy a multi pack from the Bookpeople and split up)

Go and have a look at the Christmas Bargains Thread in the Christmas section - I think it's up to number 8 already for this year (it's near the top of the section!) - full of bargains and ideas, lots of things that are suitable for stockings also work really well in party bags (I used the threads last year to help me save money on my christmas shopping and saved a fortune!).
