2 year olds birthday party - what time should I hold it?

Planning on doing a small party for my DS's 2nd birthday - nothing major just a few friends & family round our house for food, drinks, music, toys for the kids etc.

DS usually naps between 1.30 - 3pm though this can vary (eg. the days he's in nursery it's usually from about 12 - 1.30pm; then some days with me it can be 2 - 4pm). We're fairly flexible when it comes to timings for things, as long as he naps at some point I generally don't mind when it is.
However, obviously with it being his party we want him up, awake and on top form throughout!

He is generally better in the mornings though have only ever been to (children's) parties in the afternoon - would it seem odd to hold it say from 11am - 2pm?

Just wondered what time others have held parties and how it's worked with nap times etc.?

Probably should expand on that... Morning, all will be awake and happy. Possibly do it outside? You can do pastries & coffee for adults. You won't be interrupting any lunch plans, everyone can relax Sunday afternoon knowing LOs will be tired. And you will be tidied up, feet up, reading Sunday papers by 1pm, as your baby sleeps.
