Please help! This is ds's first party since starting a new school and so <ahem> I am being Competitive Mum and want to give him a good party. <<Can I brag here, can I? When we left his last school and had a goodbye party one of the mums said to me, when I thanked her for coming, 'oh my son said you just ^don't^ turn down an invitation to x's (my ds)' and I was inordinately proud. before you think I'm a pushy mum, I'm really not, he does NO after school activities AT ALL and I'm not generally pushy at all>>> Anyway, back to the subject: in previous years we've done: 8th, a Star Wars party - everyone dressed up as jedis/Darth Vader, we had the Star Wars music playing on arrival and dh Photoshopped every guest onto a Jedi photo so they all went home with a Jedi photo of themselves. Light sabre battles in the park were followed by a screening of Star Wars at our house (we borrowed a projector) 7th was a football and pizza party where we took 8 friends to a local football match and then to Pizza Express. Dh Photoshopped all guests heads onto an England team photo so they all took one home 6th was an outing to Sorley Tunnel, which is an adventure playground place in Devon 4th and 5th were bouncy castles in halls with whole classes invited. I don't do parties younger than that. So, inspiring suggestions really wanted. It must be: Boy stuff. He likes football, Yu Gi Oh, boys stuff Cool. This is important at 9yo! Not Softplayland or somesuch, can't stand them Or Quasar. I will if it's what he REALLY wants but I don't think it is All and any suggestions most welcome. TIA.
