dd 3rd birthday party - adults food?

Having dd party in about 4 weeks time and although probably got ideas for the kids food we were wondering what to provide for adults - we have been to a couple of other parties and there is always something for the adults - but the party is stressful enough so I was wanting the easiest option really!I do think its nice to provide something. Its on a Sunday at the church hall 1pm - 3pm.

I bought a bunch of mini cheese pastry things for dd2s last year

but everyone picks at the sandwiches and sausages that the kids don't eat I find

Last year we did a big spread of food, but this year for his 3rd I just wasn't up to it. We had a beach party theme and I had lots of fresh fruit. Then just cake and ice cream. I had juice boxes, water and iced tea.

We are organising our dd's 3rd birthday at an indoor centre thing, they provide all food for kids but charge more for food for adults and a fortune for wine or corkage. We are also unsure if it's the done thing to provide food and drink for the adults???? What would you as parents expect if you were there for two hours from 1pm to 3pm??

Does anyone have advice on what to do for the grown ups at one of these centre things???

at dd's 3rd I put out a large plate of veg strips, pitta bread and tortillas with dips and offered tea and coffee.

It did seem as the mums present weren't expecting this - got the impression that they usually just pick at the dc's food - which is certainly what has happened at every party we've been to this year.

personally wouldn't expect food at any party.

think I really only offered food because 2 of the mums had be carting all their children (3 each) to a variety of parties before arriving at mine so thought they might need something to eat.

Whenever we've been at partied held at centres, we've not expected anything. We've had tea/coffe and biscuits etc - I wouldn't worry too much.

as it's lunchtime and as the parents would be staying I'd put out a few nibbles - nothing cooked by my fair hands though - just open a bag and put it on a plate stuff - crisps, cheese straws, maybe some dips
