It's probably about 10 years since I've hosted a house party. We've got about 15 families coming round, it's a late afternoon / into the evening if people want to stay thing. Will be lots of 4-6 year old children, we're planning on putting DVDs on in ds1's bedroom for them.

Food is casual - will do pizzas, potato skins, sausages at tea time, with pick-at things too (struggling with ideas beyond the obvious crisps, olives, cheeseboard). Wine, beer and lager covered, picking up extra glasses tomorrow. Got lemonade, cordials, random posh raspberry drink as the non-alcoholic options. Will set up a small table with colouring in stuff and a few toys for younger kids downstairs.

I've been mainly cleaning and tidying, we don't have loads of space hence sending the kids upstairs.

What haven't I thought of?

Nothing!

You are a perfect host, OP.

My invitation Wink, sounds great!

Ooh, lots of kitchen roll for spillages.

Kitchen roll, good point. Better add more toilet roll onto tomorrow's shopping delivery order too... Thanks!

Plenty of bin bags. I always cleaning like mad before having a party but the after an hour of a full flat realise you can't tell and you have to do it all again the next day.

I am tempted to suggest plastic glasses and then you can pop them into the recycling afterwards and worry about broken glass in the house.

If I can find some decent plastic ones rather than flimsy ones, I might go for that, thanks! And yes, I shall be spending Sunday cleaning....

1001 for spillages and spare loo rolls if you have a house full Wink

As long as the kids are catered for and happy the adults will enjoy it no matter what. You sound like you have it covered OP Grin
