My dd2 is holding her 10th birthday party in our (rather small) home. I have some creative stuff for them to do first, then pizza & cake, but she is looking for some good party games to do with her friends. Will be about 10 of them. Help!

All the usual Party games went down well for my DDs 9th Party last summer - most guests heading for 10 at that point (boys and girls). The slightly less boisterous indoor stuff:
Memory game (a tray of stuff they had to memorise)
The chocolate eating game, this tends to get very noisy when someone throws a 6.
A home made quiz (the party theme was Ronald Dahl)
The island game (same principle as musical chairs, but you start with a few large newspaper islands that then get smaller/halved/even disappear at every turn, you can have several people on an island but feet need to be completely off the 'sea' - this always results in some great teamwork and we usually have to declare joint winners)

Don't eat tommy's smartie always goes down well here. I am considering this year doing a variation on the secret santa game where you pull a present out of a sack but other people have the opportunity to steal your present and you choose a new one. Of course I would provide all the presents - something little from poundland.

Consequences is quite fun for a quieter game. Also a treasure hunt with complicated clues so they have to spend longer working out where to go but less time charging around.

My ds didn't want any planned games. They all brought water guns and had a water gun fight in the garden. Also water balloons went down well. We but the xbox and wii on and they all liked playing these together. Ds has lots of Lego and some built space ships.Food was left on the dining room table for them to eat when they wanted. Ds 2 turned 8 and we had play dough and paint out for him . They had a ball
