What did you do for your 40th? Or what are you doing if it's this year?

I'm a bit stuffed because my 40th is half term week so everywhere in the world is booked (well, nice sc cottages seem to be) so I may have to do something different. I'm wondering about a combination of 2 nights in a hotel with dh and then a family party at our house too but it's all a bit vague atm.

So what did you do? Or what are you doing?

I went hot air ballooning with dh, ds and dd1. That was when we discovered dd1 (age 9) was afraid of heights! She was very good though and spent the flight sat down in the basket - she wasn't scared at the thought of it, just the physical looking over the side. The guy in charge gave her extra chocs and orange juice so she ended up quite happy!
