Cold food at a party am or pm?

If you were having a party and providing cold food would you have it in the morning 10.30-1pm so that parents would know that their child hadn't had a meal or go ahead and have it in the afternoon? 1.30 - 4.30pm?

I can't decided which to book!

I'd do the pm one - lunch doesn't have to be hot. The am one might be a bit close to brekkie for some
