9yr old girl present ideas

Dd going to a friend's 9th birthday. I don't know the girl very well. She has SN and I don't think she would be able to say what she would like to dd, so I'm looking for something age appropriate which doesn't involve reading (my usual fall back option). I wondered about a nice bag with some things in it, but not sure what - not sure that quite at make up stage yet,, or something personalised which I could run up on the sewing machine in a short period of time, any ideas?.

Thanks, I might go for stationery, I don't think she will manage needlework, but a 9yr old can never have too many pens!
