Roller skates as a birthday present for an 8 year old ...

Not sure if I'm posting in the right place (do tell me if there's a better spot). DD wants a pair of roller skates for her 8th birthday in July. Never looked at them before, don't know anyone who has a pair so just after any recommendations.

Also, any thoughts on skates v heelies (sp?)?

OK, have since discovered the Toys and Games section - will decamp there, thank you!

Bought for one of my DDs birthday. Went to Sports Direct. The skates v wheels depends on your DCs balance really. We found the inlines more funky so settled for these and she loved them. Was fine on them too. I think roller clubs are around for the skates tho'. We paid under £50 for the full kit, go online if you don't have a sports direct near you.
