Birthday party for 12 year old girl

DD1 will be 12 in 3 weeks. She is in year 7 at her new secondary school. She has always loved having a birthday party. She is a very bright girl. But not particularly "old" for her age. She still likes to play. She wants to have a party for approximately 12 girls.

She wants to do something fun. But not appear too young. Most of her friends are new and I don't know them or their patents. It's too many for a sleepover. And she doesn't want to go to the cinema.

She is a lovely girl and has worked so hard this year I want to make it special.

We live in Devon. Any ideas would be very welcome.

DD2 is taking 5friends to the zoo for her 12th party on the weekend.

Does that sort of thing appeal?

Nail painting party.We had a lady come to the house. Pizza afterwards. Girls had a great time. Bowling. Ice skating.

I don't know Devon, but 12 would be a good number for climbing or lazer tag round here.

DD2 has been ice skating a couple of times too.

I don't know if you have any outdoor places, DD also went canoeing in Y6.

DD1 wants to do Go Ape, but that is insanely expensive because you have to provide and pay for, loads of adults.

Like the zoo idea. Though transport might get expensive. Nearest one an hour away.

She doesn't like bowling. Loves skating but local rink closed.

School very strict on uniform so nails would have to be undone within 24/48 hours.

Just googled Go Ape. There is one 3/4 hour from us. It looks fantastic. Shall phone them tomorrow. Might have to scale back numbers though. Thankyou for suggestion.

Dh and Ds have been to Go Ape...they loved it! When you ring, ask for discount. Tell them your choice is between this and a paintball party, and that which ever gives you the best deal you are going to book. Worth a try, it's surprising what places will do now, as they need your business as much as you need/want them.

We're having a party at Lush on Sunday for my dd & 4 friends. they get to make bubble bath, play games and have a mini facial and mani or some such. Then lunch at Pizza Express. Sorted.

How about hiring an adult bouncy castle, or adult water slide.. I run a children's entertainment company that provide them.. they go down a treat! While blasting out her favourite music also have a NON alcoholic cocktails or champagne (as I don't know her, just coming up with random ideas) or perhaps a chocolate party? We have decided on a party bus touring around for an hour. Karaoke on board. Then supper at a local tapas place.
It's on Monday. Hope she likes it.
