costumed party entertainers e.g. superhero - good or not?

ok so i'm considering a superhero theme for a party of reception kids (boys and girls), complete with entertainer dressed as a superhero. do these go down well with the kids or are they scary/creepy?

I am doing this next weekend! I have a couple of friends dressing as Batman & Robin, who are going to swoop into the party & hand out party bags & chat to the kids. It never crossed my mind that it could be creepy.

oh i'm glad i'm not alone in thinking it might be good! ... anyone else though please i'd like popular opinion if poss

We celebrated my kid's birthday party with Spiderman Characters.All kids had lots of fun.

Ours was a great success :) Some of the kids were a bit shy, none were scared and lots wanted to shake Batmans hand!
