which venue to go for, in need of advice

I have a choice of 2 venues for DC's birthday party which will have about 20 children (boys & girls):-

  1. large hall, one big space, no outside space
  2. smaller venue with separate room for food, one bigger room split in two, and one 'alcove'. Outside space.

So, I am scratching my head because:
Option 1) - better to keep an eye on everyone, party won't be dispersed all over the place
Option 2) - better for doing different activities - crafts etc because of layout? (or would option 1 be OK with tables for various activities?). Better for eating because food table can be pre-prepared & door kept closed

Can't decide, WWYD?
thanks

How old are the children? How "organised" is the party? Planned activities and games or a bit of a free for all?

the children will be 5 & 6 with planned activities/games

I'd go for the split space. They can go outside if the weathers decent and they need to run off some energy.
