New thread :) Everyone welcome.

OP posts:

Not played with any of it yet. Too busy coughing. Been to dics and without me even pushing the point he ordered whooping cough tests and gave me inhalers for possible adult asthma. Felt good to be taken seriously at last.

Blathers thank you for sending that template over again. I thought dd1 was back at playschool today but its not til weds so on weds im going to get the dolls paint and tutu netting.

stealthsquiggle · 07/01/2013 11:11

At least you are being taken seriously what took you so long to go, you silly woman?

What if it is whooping cough? Is there actually anything they can do? Inhalers should hopefully help in the meantime, anyway. I have new magic asthma pills, which work wonders for both asthma and rhinitis but have some interesting side effects

Tinkerisdead · 07/01/2013 15:56

I did go!! They said hmm your chest is clear on your way!

But i messaged sarahstratton and she said with whooping cough your chest is clear so i went back. Ironically the cough is slightly better toda. Maybe it is asthma. I dont know. But i cant breathe at night, i cough til im gasping and sick. I just want it to go. If it is whooping cough, no, theres nothing that can be done but all the people ive been visiting will be able to get antibiotics.

Today ive booked the hall, contacted a music group(they gonna check availability) and ive made and enveloped the invites. Tomorrow i'll pay for the hall. Weds i'll get what i need for dolly and tutu.

Im inviting the babies but if siblings come along its gonna give ne around 16 kids. I'm gonna have to party bag them all arent it? If i do rainbow layer sweets what shall i give the babies cos they too small for smarties/skittles.

Tinkerisdead · 07/01/2013 16:00

Oooo oooo okay this may be stealing but hear me out. I bought dd2 a hairy maclary box set for xmas but the sleeve was ripped. So they sent me a new one and twice said they'd collect the old. They never have.

That means i have 15 preschool books f.o.c

Soooo i could do a lucky dip of books and maybe some sweets in bowls with a scoop to get a little pot of sweets if your big enough and a book? Is that immoral? Yes. Shall i do it?

stealthsquiggle · 07/01/2013 16:26

Multi tasking so will respond to books bit later (I think there is a time limit and then they are legally yours) but didn't we talk about rainbow dribble bibs for littlies?

stealthsquiggle · 07/01/2013 17:35

legal postion (in case you are interested Grin)

stealthsquiggle · 07/01/2013 17:45

Coughing till you are sick does sounds asthma-y to me, but then you are coughing up gunk, aren't you - which doesn't Confused

AFAIK if the inhalers don't work (at least for a short while), it ain't asthma

Shall I distract you with the weird, and very tiring, combination of insomnia and vivid dreams which my new asthma meds are giving me, or the interesting shade of purple/black my bruised/broken toe has gone Grin?

On second thoughts, let's stick to parties. How many baby presents would you need?

Tinkerisdead · 07/01/2013 18:36
  • im not coughing up mucus. When im sick i sick up clear frothy foam. But when i cough its completely dry except for these weird strings. Literally no "gunk" but these strings come flying out. I told the doc about them and he actually screwed his face up. They are formed into the shapes of my airways sometimes. just like this if you dare

  • legal position - ta for that. I am going to go for my policy "you snooze you loose" and chance my luck.

  • dribble bibs was a good idea was it a making thing or buy them thing?

  • music group has confirmed. So i now have a 11-1 babies party with music and movement for first 45 mins.

Tell me more about asthma because dd has had inhalers for years. Shes still coughing since oct half term and me since nov ish. I have noticed we're worse if i turn the heating off at night.

Tinkerisdead · 07/01/2013 18:40

Oh and tell me of your dreams. I am terrible for night terrors and sleep walking. I once blasted dh in the eyes with a lamp after trying to resuscitate a dying man in tescos "yelling fuck your eyes dh you evil bastard, cant you see this man is dying". When in actual fact it was my own bedroom and i was resusitating the carpet.

Blatherskite · 07/01/2013 18:42

I was going to ask about the side effects. They sound interesting!

Hmm, not sure about the books thing. I almost did something very similar with a ripped boxset of Roald Dahl books that we got DS but rang them again and got them picked up in the end. DH said we should have kept them.

The scoop for the sweeties sounds like fun, they'll love that

Tinkerisdead · 07/01/2013 18:52

I should add that they were gonna collect back in november but nothing.

And i just found the dribble bibs they a fiver each. However on ebay you can get 8 for 30 squid and choose which colours so i'm thinking get them in all the colours and lucky dip those. Maybe at the start tho so i can line babies up with rainbow necks!!

Come on stealth tell us your side effects..

stealthsquiggle · 07/01/2013 18:57

When did DD last have an asthma review? Consistent night cough = asthma not under control, IMHO.

Dribble bibs was a make it idea (we found some to buy but they were too expensive) - I could do them for you if you wanted?

stealthsquiggle · 07/01/2013 18:59

Side effects (of singulair, whose proper name I can't spell) are vivid dreams which leave me shattered in the morning, and/or insomnia. Not nightmares exactly, just really stressful.

stealthsquiggle · 07/01/2013 19:01

I keep dreaming entire days which are eminently plausible at the time and seriously weird in retrospect Hmm

Tinkerisdead · 07/01/2013 19:06

Oh no stealth i couldnt! Theres seven babies. Honestly i may just buy these rainbow set. Im not getting you to do it when your back and forth in the country and all sorts bless your heart.

Asthma. Never had a review. Never had an asthma chat. She had bronchiolitis at 18m. Given ventolin for home as she was defined a "happy wheezer". Every winter (and old house damp poo hole) guaranteed she starts coughing. Constantly. To the point that everyone will say "you've still got that cough dd?" Pisses me off cos im trying to sort it. Anyway, if she goes out in the cold or runs around then she starts in fits of coughing. Nursery complained. So i took her back. They said yes she has narrow airways (still not calling it asthma as she may grow out of it yet..this is the spiel) and gave her a steroid inhaler and more ventolin.

Nothing has changed. Well the fits of it are better as we blast her with ventolin but there is a prolonged cough. Ive never had a diagnosis, no clinic, no peakflow thing, no review. Nothing and i only know how to use her spacer by watching youtube. If indeed shes still meant to use a spacer at 4? Should i be freezing pillows and dustmite busting etc? I know zero...and now ive got similiar symptoms but to be honest mine are far more violent than hers. Shes just cough cough coughing mostly in her sleep.

stealthsquiggle · 07/01/2013 19:14

I don't mind, honestly - and I actually have a week of working from home and a couple of evenings when DH is away... It would probably cost about £20 in materials by the time you got poppers etc though.

You need to throw a strop and demand a review with whoever is the asthma specialist at your GP's (normally a nurse IME) - there are so many things wrong in that description that I can't even respond to them all on my phone.

Tinkerisdead · 07/01/2013 20:09

Let me think on the bibs then cos i may still palm them off with stolen books yet.

Really? Asthma nurse you think? Right ok. Did you dare link on my eeirdy lung strings?

Blatherskite · 07/01/2013 20:17

Those lung things were gross! Did you take a few to show the doc? I would.

Did you want the thank you notes I made to match the party bags too DW?

stealthsquiggle · 07/01/2013 20:32

Ok - I clicked. Bleugh. I have had not dissimilar capacity coming off my lungs, but only with chest infections.

Your poor DD should not be having to deal with all that, if they got her drugs right. If she is coughing in her sleep, she's not sleeping properly. Lots of GPs know very little about asthma, but the nurses I have met, in various practices, have all been really good. (not that I am not sympathetic to you too, of course Smile)

stealthsquiggle · 07/01/2013 20:32

That was crap, not capacity Confused

Tinkerisdead · 07/01/2013 20:55

Right i'll def ask for an appointment then. I just went to check on her and shes asleep but coughing still. She looks so pallid all the time lately. Really ashen. Upsets me.

Ate the thankyous the same template blathers or a variation? Chuck them my way if you dont mind. Im happy to take what i can to make this party easy.

Blatherskite · 07/01/2013 21:49

I made them from the bag labels so there's a similarity. I'll send them over and you can see if you like them.

stealthsquiggle · 07/01/2013 21:54

I just costed up materials on ebay - with postage, about £16

Tinkerisdead · 08/01/2013 00:55

Stealth is that rainbow stripe or each one a different colour?

Tinkerisdead · 08/01/2013 00:56

Yes i'm awake coughing. Inhaler doing piss all and all i can hear is dd the same in there. What's wrong woth is sob sob. Be nice to get some proper sleep.
