Hi, as most of you know, I run a Hotel in Blackpool. The season kicks of for Easter soon and I've been mulling over some new business ideas today, I would really like your opinions on the following:

Inclusive Family Party Package
Birthday, Anniversary, Christmas, Engagement……. NOT Stags/Hens - mixed family groups only
We are offering a ready made family party, all you have to do is provide the family. Forget the stress of family gatherings, we’ll do the preparations and cleaning up leaving you to enjoy the party.
There is no dance floor, glitter ball or karaoke, but we do have a lovely relaxed atmosphere giving a home from home feel yet providing the space needed for a good old family bash.
Having rooms onsite means no one has to drive or get taxis you can simply crawl into bed when you’re ready.
Here’s a typical itinerary although we can make adjustments:
Arrive from 10am on Saturday Morning ready for a fun full day in Blackpool
From 7.30pm onwards you will have use of the dining room and bar lounge which will be fully decorated in the theme of your party, buffet, music, bar available (or bring your own) and a cake.
Party until late then either retire to your room or head into Blackpool and hit the clubs.
A full English breakfast will be cooked for you on Sunday morning at a time of your choice. Then a late check out of 12 noon.
We are able to accommodate and cater for up to 40 guests at the function comfortably and there are plenty of guest houses very close by should more than 20 wish to stay the night, we would be happy to provide a list of contact details.
Price includes:
Full use of all 8 bedrooms (approx 20 guests)
Buffet for up to 40
Cake
Bar service
Full English breakfast for up to 20
Room Details (shows absolute maximum capacity)
1st Floor
Room 1 - 1 adult (can also take camp bed/cot but is a squeeze)
Room 2 - 2 adults in double bed en suite (can take a cot also)
Room 2a - 1 adult in single bed
Room 3 - 2 adults (can take a camp bed/cot but is a squeeze)
Room 4 - 2 adults in double bed
Room 5 - 4 adults in a triple bunk and camp bed
Toilet
Shower
Family WC/Shower room
All rooms have wash basins
2nd Floor
Room 11 - 1 adult in single bed
Room 12 - 4 adults in triple bunk and camp bed (could take a cot/extra camp bed also)
Toilet
Maximum capacity = 20 adults/children + 1 baby or 17 adults/children + 3 babies
Recommended capacity = 17 adults/children

Haven't worked out a costing yet but probably around £800 - not extortionate between 20-40 people.

Wow sounds fab

I would mention that individual requests could be accommodated too eg if they wanted certain music or food. (if you are willing to of course!)

Err can I hire it Grin

does your hotel have a website?

bubblerock · 23/03/2006 20:39

LOL - thanks for replying CD I was beginning to feel unloved Grin

My business ad is \link{http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk?topicid=1930&threadid=81207&stamp=060209160448\here} with web address etc Smile

They could bring their own music too and food could be discussed if something different was needed.

bubblerock · 23/03/2006 21:10

I just checked through \link{http://www.berisfieldhotel.co.uk/rooms.html\this} link - wonder why it doesn't work on yours - I need to get some more photo's actually, I can see me being busy the next couple of weeks, I've got a bit lazy over the winter Blush

CountessDracula · 23/03/2006 21:19

oh no it does but they are too small to see anything properly!!

Milliways · 23/03/2006 21:25

Bubble - I'm still working out what to do for my 40th - which is in the Bank Hol w/e at end April. Can't even contemplate booking the whole place, but do you have vacancies & how much for 2 adults & 2 kids (15&10) in 2 rooms? Say arriving late Fri 28th & leaving Mon 1st May?

I assume the pleasure beach wil be open then?

bubblerock · 23/03/2006 21:59

They are poxy pictures aren't they? But I promise you it is all nice and new and very clean! I need to sort it out, just did a couple of changes -

You can see the bar clearly \link{http://www.berisfieldhotel.co.uk/images/bar.jpg\here}

I promise I will take some decent photo's very soon and update it!!

Hi Milliways, we have availability for the bank holiday weekend at the moment, you could have the ensuite double and the 2 singles either side of it for the kids (or they could share a double if they prefered not to have their own rooms) The cost is £22 per adult per night with standard breakfast (£25 with full english). The children would be £10 each per night with standard breakfast (£12 with full english) nb standard breakfast is tea, coffee, choice of cereals, toast, juice.

So a 3 night break for 4 with standard breakfast would cost - £132 adults
£ 60 children
- 10% MN discount
Total cost = £172.80
With full english it would cost
= £199.80
Hope that helps - just email me ([email protected]) if you need any more info Grin

Everything will be open then, the pleasure beach was open last weekend, it's the super saver weekends at the moment - still not getting me on the big one! Smile

Sounds Fab - waiting for DH to get off his 'puter to discuss it. You are about 5 hrs drive away so need to know what time he can finish work. Do you accept late arrivals?

bubblerock · 23/03/2006 22:52

Where are you milliways?

OP posts:
Milliways · 23/03/2006 22:57

DH says YES! I will send you an email - but going to bed soon so will follow up via email tomorrow.

Am very excited - actually getting a birthday treat :)

Skribble · 23/03/2006 23:00

That price sounds good for such a big party, especially as this includes a buffet and breakfast. I take it this would be out of the main seasons. Not something I would expect my family to travel more than 1 1/2 to 2 hours to get there, I suppose as it is only for 1 night.

I have just hosted a family birthday do in a selfcatering lodge, it was for 3 nights and the lodge itself cost £850. It slept 12 comfortably plus another 3 on extra beds. 7 bedroom. Didn't include any food. So your deal does sound good.

bubblerock · 23/03/2006 23:08

Grin Not sure where you are but Ryanair do cheap flights from stansted to Blackpool airport might be worth looking into. Late check ins are fine, just give us a rough arrival time once you know - or give us a ring enroute.

OP posts:
Milliways · 23/03/2006 23:14

Have sent email - prob arrive at 10pm ish - variable with b/hol traffic.

We are in Reading, but think cost of flights would just take us over budget (esp as Bank Hol so no really cheap deals), but Thanks for the idea.

Skribble · 24/03/2006 21:58

Thanks Bubbles but it will be a while before I am up to orgainsing another family do. Let alone getting 12 people on a Ryanair flight Grin.

TBH Blackpool never really appealed but it is something we may consider a weekend in the summer just with the kids as we can never get enough time off for a fortnigh away. I will have a nose at your website for now.

bubblerock · 28/03/2006 00:13

CD - I have now added bigger pictures if you want to take a look, I ended up revamping the whole site in the end Grin
