I know you don't know him but I'm totally stumped! He's into sport (watching) would hate to do anything remotely dangerous. He got me a go in a racing car once which I loved but he'd hate that.

I feel as if I'm going to end up just getting him clothes, cds and books but would love to do something different.

TIA

When my dad was 50, I bought a huge photo album and I put photos of him, and family, in it starting with his childhood ones right up to the present. Some of the pages were themed (so I think one had a photos of him with us on graduation/passing out), some were holidays or whatever. It took me ages but he loved it. Did one for my Mum too and she loved it. I got a nice album where you put the photos under the film and there is tissue between each page.

..it was my DH's 50th last year ...so I booked us both into a spa for the day, arranged for somebody to collect DS and DD from school & pre-school...and both had a wonderful time together, which we don't get the chance too very often at all !!! DH had never been before but said that he really enjoyed it....we went to Lucknam Park which has fantastic grounds....www.lucknampark.co.uk...then organised a surprise party for him for a small number (25) of close friends and his mums & dad on the saturday after..... he's really not a surprise party type of person but really enjoyed the day....Good luck !

Yes that's a good idea too steppy. There's a posh hotel near to us that does spa days so I could do that.

I'm glad I asked now Smile

I have just done a "This is your Life" scrap book/ album for my FIL's 60th birthday. Collected pictures from all the family.
