Anyone put RSVP date really close to party date?

I'm giving invitations out tomorrow and party is 1st July so I'm thinking that I should put RSVP date as close to the party as possible?

I would be tempted to put "RSVP as soon as possible." it depends how soon you need to know numbers.

The last party that we had I put the RSVP date as 2 weeks before but people still only RSVP a few days before!

Just put RSVP by 29 July 12 - as long as that gives you time enough

June, June, JUNE!!

Work out when you need to know by and put then.

I asked round and most people said give the invitations out about 2 weeks before, but then a couple said oh that's not much notice and now I'm worrying no one will turn up!!

Gave the invitations out Friday. Had one text straight away when I got home, but no others.
