Has anyone ever hosted a murder mystery party?!

My 40th birthday is coming up and I have family and friends coming and was thinking of making a murder mystery party, would love some tips or links for good ones .... Is it easy to set up and how does it work?!? Many thanks

We did one years ago, it was dead easy as we bought a box with all the kit. Just make sure your friends are fairly outgoing or going to drink a bit as it can be a bit awkward until everyone gets into it. Ours was very funny. Beware on the boxes when they say for 8 to 12 players as there will only be 8 parts, so if you had 12 people there, the other 4 would be sat around like lemons. Much more fun if everyone is involved! I went to one on NYE and it was brilliant. Getting everyone to dress up as their characters really gets everyone in a good party mood. Plus it gives something to do for the evening. Our friends bought a box set, and we sort of did in in phases, like one round of questions then a bit of drinking and eating, then another round. It was really good.
