am thinking of using a cake kit for DS 4th birthday. Has anyone used them, do they taste good and is it easy? Not much of a cook but wanted to attempt to make him a cake for his party. Thought it was good price as a baking tin and all the bits would work out more.

I hadn't seen them before, but just had a look at them now. I agree that it's good value as I tend to spend a fortune on the icing as I buy it ready-coloured. I don't know what it tastes like, but don't kids just like cake anyway?? I don't think you'd have any complaints from them. Good luck.

Thanks. Tried Delia's christmas cake kit and it was very tasty - even MIL thought so ;) so thought this would be a good idea. Fingers crossed.
