5th birthday party - when to bring cake out?

Really inane question - sorry! DS has his party on Saturday - bouncy-castle-in-a-hall job for his entire Reception class. Are we better off bringing the cake out and starting to sing Happy Birthday at the beginning of the feeding frenzy as a way to round the kids up and get them to the table, or should we bring it out as they finish eating?

I'd do it at the start of feeding time and then that gives you time to cut it for the party bags (if you are having party bags!)

I tend to do it at the end of pass the parcel, when they are all in a big circle, so that they can all admire see the cake which I have spent too much time making and sing to the child rather than trying to peer from far end of table knocking over their plates/drinks etc. Also gives you even more time to cut up cake, although last time I just made a spare cake and cut it up in the morning, wrapped it all up ready to go, saves about 10-15 mins for large party.
