I'd like to do a murder mystery party for 13 yr old ds but don't know where to start. Has anyone been to one or could recommend a package with a suitable story? Thanks

Does this site help at all?

How many ? There are a number of boxed games/dvd's available on Amazon.

Thanks. There will probably be around 10 but bit worried knowing what 13 yr old boys are like - they may be too self conscious unless it really captures their imagination? Anyone any teens who've done this? Will look on Amazon.

I've held one of these with a group of teenagers. Can I recommend the "How to host a Murder" series - you used to be able to buy them form john Lewis. They usually have a white background with a picture on the front. These are very good, and give plenty of intructions for you and the guests. I found that it worked well having one or two slightly older people in the group to keep things going on their first attempt, but once the group has done one such party they usually tackle subsequent ones with ease. The crucial success point of the above kits is that they only give away a certain amount of information ech round, and the killer doesn't usually know that they are the killer until towards the end of the game (it is much harder if you know that you are the killer at the start of the game) . They also gives loads of information so teenagers don't have to make too much up (unless they want to). Some of the cheaper kits give less information which can lead people to struggle.

One word of warning - one of the games in this series is rather confusing (basically all of the guests attempt to murder the victim). I can try and work out which if you want - I have a number of them in my garagae I think (though they might be on loan).
