Dd's ninth birthday party

Dd generally has a party in the village hall with an entertainer laid on. Her favourite party has been with an entertainer who lays on traditional party games and food. She would like the same again this year.Dd is quite young for her years and I wondered whether her friends might find this sort of party babyish. I am aware that many of her friends are far more mature. Dd will ultimately have the party of her choice anyway but I wouldn't want her teased because of it. Do nine year olds enjoy party games or do they find it all beneath them?

DD is 10 & would be fine with that, just make the games & prizes age appropriate. Bit of a Disco & chance to dress up would please many.

My DD, who will be 9 in March, would in theory be OK with this sort of party that had been made a bit more age appropriate. The main problem would be that I think a lot of them have entertainer fatigue by this age. We are planning a pool party but I am having misgivings. If she will really enjoy it, and you can make it appropriate with a disco and "older" games then it will be fine. Maybe have a dress code, kids' cocktails with umbrellas etc? Get cup cakes, they love those!
