I looked into Mary Poppins but at £68 a ticket I quickly changed my mind - even with the Get into London offer they are £30 each which would be okay but no availability at the weekend.

So moved on to someone's hall and disco idea - working out too expensive and she is only 7 - plenty of time for that when she's a bit bigger.

Back to the party at home idea but I really need a great idea to entertain 10 6-7 year old girls. I've done arts and crafts with them previously and I need something fabulous to entertain them.

I am hoping you lot have the answer! I did think about making sweets and cakes and getting messy (warning parents beforehand of course!). Do you think they would go for that?

Why not take a photo of your daughter in her dance costume/ballet/whatever and take it to ASDA and have a photo cake done?

It only costs £8.96 and that is for the cake and the photo of icing on top!!! How cheap!!

That's Asda price!!

Buy a cake - shock horror!!!

No, I like stressing myself out making them ha ha!

Agree that the ASDA photo ones are good though!

I love shop bought cake which horrifies DH as he would rather make them!

DD had a make a pizza party in Pizza Hut, cost the same as the normal kids Pizza, no mess to clear up either. DD was 6 and pehaps her friemds were a little to young. I think 7 up is ideal.

I like the idea of the Hama beads and have mentaly stored that. I wish I had thought of more table top activities to keep them all amused until their pizzas arrived (easier at home perhaps) I hadn't made allowances for the kids that aren't used to eating out and lacking a little in table manners. (I had a horrible moment when I realised the 4 kids that were running around the restruant were with us ). DD is used to eating out too as i am so lazy .
