What do I take to a Chinese New Year party?

Have been invited for lunch by Chinese friends (who have a baby son). Would normally take something (wine / flowers / chocs / a little gift for the baby) anyway, but is there something specific I could take in honour of the occasion?

No traditional ideas really, but as it's going to be the Year of the Dog you could bring a little dog toy for the baby!

Have been instructed to wear red .... bit of a problem for me as I only fit about 3 outfits at the moment, none of them red, in my postnatal state. But I love the year of the dog idea SM
