Will be having about 6 of each age back after school for tea party followed by trick or treating. Thought of usual statues, pass the ghoulish parcel and dunking bowl games but any quirky variations gratefully recieved. Also food ideas?

Chocolate witch is a big favourite here. You just need a few dressing up clothes (we normally have a witch's hat, scarf of some sort and a pair of DPs ski gloves). DCs sit round in a circle with a dice and take turns trying to roll a 6.

When one rolls a 6, they go into the middle, put on the dressing up clothes and start to cut up a big bar of chocolate with plastic knife and fork. They can eat all the bits they cut off (ski gloves really slow them down there) until another child throws a 6, and then they swap. Repeat till the chocolate is finished

'Tis fab!

Serve egg mayo sandwiches but put green food dye in it. Seriously looks scary but perfectly plain. Also freeze water in a washing up glove and peel off later and put in your fruit punch. Looks great!

We do the mummy game, get them into groups give them cheap crappy loo rolls and they wrap each other up. We save this til last then they all go crazy throwing the shredded bit of paper everywhere. The parents are usually arriving about then and think you are a saint for letting the kids make so much mess. It takes 5 mins to clear up and it's do worth it. All the kids love it.

We also do tiny sugar donuts tied to broomstick and have to bite them off as we wiggle them around. Also tie a balloon to everyones leg with a longish bit of string and they have to stamp on them to burst them. Person with last balloon inflated is the winner. (not very halloweeny though)
