pizza express parties...for 3yr olds?!

DS turns 3 in about 10 days (I am a terrible mother!!) and I'm 8 months pregnant, DH is away but we're emigrating in Feb so want to do something with his little friends - will prob only be about 6 of them in total, all around 3 yrs old. Can't face travelling far, our flat is too small for that many children and accompanying adults...there is however a pizza express up the road

Has anyone been to one and is 3 far too young to contemplate it? Running out of ideas, energy and time!

I would do soft play instead. i don't think a party of 3 year olds would sit still long enough for pizza express. you could always pop in or phone though and see what they think and what they could do to cater for them though.

I second soft play or farm. They will enjoy it much more because they are free to run around. Buy them all a lunchbox and parents tea/coffee and everyone will be happy :)

Soft play would be more fun.

soft play is 2 bus rides away though (I can't drive and DH is in america....)

don't do a party now, do one before you leave when DH is around so you can get to soft play or similar. I really don't think Pizza Express would be suitable for 3 yos.

no me neither to be honest, was just clutching at straws.

Our local leisure centre does kids parties but there's a minimum payment and everyone is being rubbish getting back to me if they can make it, no point in forking out if only 3 kids come!

He'll get to do some stuff at nursery in the morning so think I'll just make it a low key teatime at our house in the afternoon, because I know there'll prob only be 4 toddlers available, 2 babies and 4 parents...

Good God - that would be insane and massively stressful for all concerned.

Does the leisure centre have a soft play or swimming? You can do something low key without having to purchase a party package from them. Would really be no different to meeting there for a playdate except you pay for everything.

We did this for DD's 9th birthday. It was great but even the 9 and 10 year olds got a bit bored with the small amount of waiting and started running around trashing the place. I really don't think 3 year olds would enjoy it or get the most out of it. Not sure what else to suggest other than what people have said already but hope you get something sorted.

I would just do get together with cake & pass the parcel, & get some toys out for them to play with, honestly, 3 is still very young to need a 'proper' party
