Help me decide what to dress up as! Must be easy to do or hire and age appropriate!

We are going to a 40th, which is fancy dress, in a couple of weeks and I have no idea what to dress up as. I'm short, blonde and not thin so I think that limits me somewhat. I could go to a fancy dress shop but would rather not have to. I wore a long dark purple dress when we got married a couple of weeks ago so ideally I'd like to wear that. I also have long black velvet gloves so am wondering about those 2 as a foundation. All suggestions welcome! TIA!

Cruella de Ville? I know you can get long black wigs with white streaks in at Hallowe'en time - from card shops etc. You could try online?

Morticia! Yes, could work. I thought about Cruella, I have a couple of toy dalmations lying about, I could always string them together. I suppose it would be easy enough to put a black streak in my hair wouldn't it?

Well, I've asked dh to go as Bond or a fireman, har, har but he's not having it. He says he won't fancy me as Cruella but he might come round to the fireman on that basis!

I like the Cruella idea - especially with the dalmatians. Can you get hold of a fur coat?

Go with the Witch - needs minimal effort from what you have already! DH can go as Aslan. Or a beaver. Snort!

Can loan you a fab jesters outfit if you're not too non-average-sized, from DH's carnival float a few years back (you'll need coloured tights)

Do you have any wings. If so cover them in black fish net stockings, wear the dress, carry the wand and tiara and say you are a fallen angel.
