Gift ideas for DD's 3 and half year old boy classmate

My DD has just started going to school 3 days back and she has already got a birthday invitation from one of her classmates!!

We (or my DD) obviously don't know the birthday boy that well coz school has just begun. So keeping this in mind does anyone have any ideas for a birthday gift for a 3 and a half year old boy?

This is quite nice www.funlearning.co.uk/creative-play/klutz-shadow-games-book. We have this at home.

I seem to remember they like things like torches, walkie talkies, binoculars - that kind of thing.

I have a 3.5yo boy :).

He would most love anything with large vehicle themes (tractor, digger, fire engine, land-rover, car-transporter) that are age-suitable (20-40 large-piece puzzles, books, simple stencils, die-cast metal/plastic/playmobil toys).

Just think "wheels" and "Digger"!

As it happens my boy also likes Hama beads and some 3yo boys adore soft toys, but if you want a reliable bet for a boy you barely know... "wheels" and "diggers".

Funny age to have a birthday!?!
Books, Lego, Christmas-themed craft kit.

Oh yeah, Crumbling, why didn't I twig on that!?
