Idea's for celebrating DS 6th birthday - please!

My Ds is turning 6 in October and I'm starting to think about how we'll celebrate. Did the whole superhero party thing last year with lots of friends but don't want to do a big party every year. Would like to do something special with just a few friends, but can't afford anything too pricey!
Any ideas?:)

Bowling party.

DS1 did this for his 5th birthday last year at our local Holleywood Bowl. I think it was £7.50 each for one game of bowling and then a meal (something and chips) with a drink. I took a cake and party bags.

We only paid for those who turned up on the day which is great as one of the mums forgot to bring her ds!
