There will be 8 of them and I have 4 hours to kill. What have I let myself in for?!

She wants to order pizza for dinner first but that's as far as we've got.

DVD to go with the pizza and then a make up and nails session. Let them get on with it as much as you can, because you'll be SO embarrassing. Grin

So no pass the parcel then? Wink

I had to endure a game called Puking Bunnies.

You put a marshmallow in your mouth and say "puking bunnies".

You put another in and repeat.

Carry on until you dribble/puke/spit the lot out/laugh too much or can't say the words clearly.

The winner is the one who can get the most in.

Have a bucket handy.

Revolting children.

My dds and their friends like things like treasure hunts, or charades, or telling ghost stories in the dark, or playing wink murder or sardines.
Some of them like craft activities (tie-dying t-shirts, or painting crockery, that sort of thing).

nancythenaughtyfairy · 17/01/2011 16:24

Leave a pile of girly magazines out so they can do the quizzes and stuff.

Some kind of craft. Decorate a photo frame that you can put a group photo in to take home. Or jewellery-making?

A wii tournament.

Karaoke competition.

FlyingSquirrel · 17/01/2011 16:27

Oopsadaisy children have died from that game - marshmallow too spongey to get out once it's lodged in the throat, if it's the game I'm thinking of.

pizza, dvd, popcorn and leave them to it

pass the parcel no good unless you can put Justin Beiber in it

FlyingSquirrel - come on - relax!

Children die falling off bikes, on slides, trampolining, eating lollipops, playing rugby, skiing, skating, fishing, swimming .....

All tragic of course, but don't tell me your dcs sit quietly and eat pizza all the time. Guests certainly wouldn't visit again.

Almost anything carries some risk and you can choke on anything, anytime - no rude connotations intentionally implied.

It's nothing to the sort of risks our dcs will take as they get older and get offered drugs/alcohol/get offered lifts from inexperienced drivers/go to city centre nightclubs with their mates.

I would never suggest anyone should do this on their own in a remote area - it was a party with loads of people wandering about (including 2 A&E nurses).

We all had a go - it was disgusting and hilarious.

I won't tell you some of the other games because you might faint.

My DD was happy with junk food, DVDs and makeup to make a mess with. Definitely didn't want me involved at all.

nancythenaughtyfairy · 18/01/2011 11:15

Sorry Oops but I'm with Flying squirrel in the cautious camp and wouldn't go for anything that involved stuffing children's mouths until they could choke - and especially not other people's children's mouths. I'd probably let them make a revolting mess with marshmallows and the choc fountain instead.

Ooopsadaisy · 18/01/2011 12:29

No probs nancy and Flyingsquirrel - we're all different.

There are probably things that I consider the work of the devil that you think are fine.

I have a fierce objection to children riding bikes with lollipops sticking out of their mouths. That's my choking nightmare but they all do it round here - I can't even look.

Just Dance on Wii is brilliant (although I think I probably caused a few health and safety hazards with it).

nancythenaughtyfairy · 18/01/2011 15:40

Guess so Oops, I am too relaxed in many ways and we have had our fair share of A and E trips over the years.

I'm thinking of getting Just Dance in an attempt to shift some pounds. Could use dd's birthday as an excuse...
