I don't see why not, if they want to. It's your (?) wedding, your day, your marriage, (I refuse to use the words civil partnership as they imply that this is a lesser ceremony than any other, which I don't believe.) Do what you want. Won't both parties need witnesses, so they can be male, female or TG? Good luck! Be happy!

I was chatting the other day about a term to cover both marriage and legal partnerships - ie a generic term for becoming legally tied to someone.

The best we managed was "bondage ceremony".

It's not going to catch on, is it?

My friends had one best man and two maids of honour (one of which was me) but the beauty of a civil ceremony is you can pretty much do what you want.

the ones i've been to have had either 2 best men or one best man one best women.

And i managed to go on my first ever stag do with a very mixed bag of people - it was great.
